The scope of work involves dredging for maintenance of the required widths and depths on need basis in the existing navigational channels of the Cochin Port including berth frontages and the basin in front of the International Container Transshipment Terminal located at Vallarpadam and LNG Basin located towards north of Cochin Gut at Puthuvypeen, during the period of 12 months from date of commencement, by deploying Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger(s) [TSHD(s)] of not less than specified capacity and disposing the dredged material at specified dumping areas as in Clause 2.8 [Disposal of dredged material] of Special Conditions of Contract and other related works as detailed elsewhere in the tender. Minimum two TSHDs with total hopper capacity not less than 11,900 cu.m shall be deployed for the work and minimum individual hopper capacity of TSHD shall not be less than 4500cu.m.
