Entrance to the harbour is 16500 m long , 260 m wide , 15.95 m deep. Ernakulam channel is 4.90 Km long, width varying from 250 to 500 m , draft of 12.5 m. Mattancherry channel is 4.08 Km long, width varying from 180 to 250 m, draft of 9.14 m. -

Ernakulam Channel has 5 general cargo , 1 fertilizer and 3 oil berths. Mattancherry Channel has 1 general cargo berth, one Boat Train Pier and two jetties for miscellaneous cargo.
