Cochin Port Trust has invited e-tenders for lease of 4.05 ha (10 acres) of land at South End Reclamation (SER) Area, W/Island for establishing a Multispecialty Hospital vide e-tender No. MSTC/BLR/COCHIN PORT TRUST/17/WILLINGDON ISLAND/19-20/19365 dated 31.10.2019.
Cochin Port will allot the land on lease basis for a period of 30 years to the successful bidder on as-is where-is condition for the project. The successful bidder shall construct and operate the facility.
The proposed facility is indented for treating general public and as a referral hospital for Cochin Port Trust. The successful bidder (S.B) shall, at all times, reserve a minimum of 50 beds (“Reserved Beds”) and all other facilities like various Specialist O.P.D. services, investigations in O.P.D. and I.P.D., O.P.D. and I.P.D. procedures / surgery, to be made available to the Sponsored Patients of Cochin Port Trust at CGHS rates, at all times on referral as and when required. The reservation of such beds (General ward, single room, A/C room) shall be as per the prevailing CGHS eligibility rules. All matters with reference to the treatment of the Sponsored patients will be regulated by the prevailing CGHS rules. The medical expenses of the sponsored patients of CoPT will be paid either by CoPT or directly by the patients.
Willingdon Island is the only area available which is located in close proximity to Cochin city and in a serene and calm environment just ideal for an international level hospital and allied infrastructures. Easy access, yet away from all the crowd and pollution of the city should attract such a venture.
Cochin Port holds land in Willingdon Island enough for any international level hospital suitable for Medical Tourism and also benefits the local population.
Tenders are invited for lease of 10 acres of land at W/Island for the project during November 2019 on upfront payment basis did not fetch any bids. Accordingly, based on demand from the trade, the land has been now tendered on annual lease rent basis on 05/02/2020 with due date of submission of tender on 20/03/2020. No bids were received on the bid due date.
An EoI was invited on 17.02.2021 with due date of submission on 24.02.2021. However no proposals were received.
