Automated Grain Terminal

Kerala is a food-deficit state, producing only about 15% of its annual Food Grain requirement. So about 2.5 Million Tonnes of Rice and 0.4 Million Tonnes of Wheat are being procured from outside the State every year. Kerala also depends on other States and countries for almost the entire requirement of pulses.

4 acres of land has been earmarked for setting up an Automated Grain Terminal in PPP (DBFOT) format.

The Grain Terminal, through automated handling, ensures high productivity and hygienic standards of a high order. In such a system, the Grain in bulk will be pneumatically pumped from the ship to the silos, where they will be stored for dispatch either in bulk, or in bags after standardization through automated bagging.
